About
Thrive Bushcraft courses run in 10 acres of woodland, near Chagford, in Dartmoor National Park. We are 2½ hours from London Paddington, including free pick up from Exeter.

Thrive Bushcraft is run by Alex Latham, who grew up in Chagford. He has been teaching bushcraft professionally since 2015. He leads treks worldwide and has walked the length of New Zealand.
For Alex, spending time in the woods, living off the land, is what matters the most.
At Thrive, we want to teach you how to live in the woods with bellies full and motivation levels high!
Our courses are not about survival and being tough, but about how to live in the wilderness in a mentally and physically sustainable way. We hope you will leave the woods feeling you could have happily stayed longer.

Thrive Bushcraft values community.

All food is locally sourced and freshly prepared. Our milk comes from one of the few dairies in the country which rears its calves alongside their mothers.
Alex will provide a range of pre-prepared wild foods for everyone to try, such as seaweed crisps, pickles, and herbal teas.

In addition, 90% of our equipment is reclaimed from local charities and carefully renovated where necessary, with minimal environmental impact.
All meals will be cooked over the open fire.
Camp in comfort in bell tents, complete with carpets, quality campbeds and hot water bottles.
